about

My work balances advancing digital technologies with ecological interconnectivity and landscape. I respond to the phenomenon of sensory perceptions and memories tied to the natural world being increasingly compressed and diffused by unending information flows. These effects, often unnoticed, create underlying tension between ourselves and our surroundings. Within my practice I navigate and transform emerging cybernetic aspects of our physical, digital, and cultural environments to reclaim agency and promote hybridity rather than succumb to nihilism and detachment. By constructing a visual language that blends organic and intuitive gestures with cold, coded data, I allow the incongruities to coalesce into a resolved and ever-expanding network of art.

I use an expansive painting process including image manipulation, 3D modeling, scanning, and sculpting to generate artwork that formally mirrors the eco-techno environment we inhabit. Using printing processes, both 2D and 3D, I render compositions and content directly into material form. I combine and layer these initial surfaces with hand made marks to physically breathe life back into their anatomy, allowing me to activate and harvest an atmosphere that best reflects a new, vital blend of experience. I often use custom fabricated spacers as installation devices for the finished paintings, fusing them into a dynamic grid of representation and meaning.
